OffScript captures the person and a glimpse of the moment around them.
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – September 2026 – Dating has always involved some curation. Carefully selected photos, polished profiles and perfectly considered opening lines are nothing new.
But AI is changing the scale of what is possible. Images can be created or altered in seconds. Bios and messages can be generated instantly. Conversations can be assisted by AI. And at the more serious end, scammers are using increasingly sophisticated technology to create convincing identities and relationships online.
Who am I actually meeting?
Australian-founded greenhalo believes the answer requires more than a profile, a match or even a single identity check. Following feedback from its early users, greenhalo has reimagined OffScript, its authenticity feature designed to give people a more candid, real-time glimpse of the person behind the digital presentation.
The person and the moment
At unexpected moments, greenhalo users are prompted to capture what they are doing within a short window. Using both the front and rear cameras, OffScript captures the person and a glimpse of the moment around them.
A face and a view. A coffee with friends. Walking the dog. Sitting at home. A night out. Something completely ordinary. That's the point.
Rather than choosing another image from a camera roll, OffScript creates spontaneous snapshots of everyday life that can build a more natural picture of the person behind the profile.
It isn't designed to detect AI or declare whether something is fake. Instead, it gives people another way to show that they are current, present and willing to show up without everything being perfectly curated.
Don't just tell someone you're real. Show them.
In an environment where AI can also help bad actors create convincing photographs, identities and conversations, those real-time signals can carry additional value. No individual signal can guarantee someone is safe or genuine, but greenhalo's approach is to give people more context from which to make their own decisions.
Authenticity you can take with you
OffScript moments aren't locked inside greenhalo. Users can share them through their phone's native sharing tools, send them directly to someone they're talking to, share them socially, or add them to a dating app profile as a more spontaneous glimpse of who they are.
That portability reflects a much bigger idea behind greenhalo. People no longer meet in one place. A connection might start on a dating app, through Instagram, at an event, through friends, or simply by meeting someone while out.
Where you meet changes. The questions you have about the person don't.
greenhalo is building towards a Dating Passport that belongs to the individual, not the platform where a connection happened. OffScript provides a signal of authenticity. Trust Signals provide additional context about the person behind the connection. Together, they can begin to create a more rounded picture that someone can carry across the different ways they meet.
And when a connection moves towards the real world, greenhalo goes further. WingMate lets users share their plans with someone they trust and set check-ins around meeting someone, while Compass and check-ins help people reflect on how a connection actually feels before, after and at any time.
Trust that travels with you
“Dating doesn't happen in one place anymore. You might meet someone on an app, through Instagram, at an event, through friends or standing next to them at a bar. Where you meet changes, but the questions you have about that person don't,” said Ian Medcalf, CEO and Co-Founder of greenhalo.“At the same time, AI is making it incredibly easy to curate how we present ourselves online, and unfortunately it's also giving scammers increasingly sophisticated tools. We don't think the answer is a single badge that claims everything is okay. It's about giving people more signals and more context.“OffScript captures something very simple: the person and the moment around them. Our bigger vision is a Dating Passport where those authenticity and trust signals can travel with you, regardless of where you happened to meet.”
Because ultimately, where you meet matters less than who you're about to meet.
